Submission

My work, of late, has been more abstract interpretation of the persona rather than purely abstract creation. This piece, entitled submission, was inspired by a recent trip to Lake Del Valle in Livermore, CA.
I've entered it into an art competition and they called to ask if the actual name of the piece was "submission" or if it was my submission. I love the irony. The term submission here is entitled for the purpose of conveying a giving up of control. Like nature, the term embodies the concept of letting energy flow rather than keeping it welled up inside ourselves. Which is entirely appropriate as an inspiration from this man made lake.
What's next? I'm back to persona interpretation. I've got a model lined up and she is incredibly interesting. It should be exciting to see how this next series turns out. Whatever the result, I'll be showcasing it at the upcoming Livermore Artwalk on October 11th.
